One more step towards Googleplex!

Well yeah…

After all the good news, it was time for the lunch break (Critical puts together a lunch every month to get everyone together from every site in Coimbra, on the headquarters), and while there, we were presented with some new stuff:

  • two foosball tables
  • one ping pong table
  • one pool table
  • two really neat bicycles with shock absorbers on the front wheel! w00t!

And to top that, I’m going to see Sérgio Godinho live in Coimbra with my mom (Critical will pay for 50% of the tickets) :-)

And the good news continue

I was, and am, at work, when a guy from the systems infrastructure came to me, and said

“Here’s your 3G card!”.

YAY! So now I have truly wireless and mobile internet via 3G (TMN), being paid by my employer :-)

In other news, I won’t be attending the Radical Weekend, because I don’t feel like attending it alone. sux.

Yay Bonus!

This is turning out to be a very nice month financially wise!

First, I am told that from this month on, I will be receiving fuel coupons every month, each with a value of 120€. And now, I’ve found out that the performance bonus has hit my account this month (it’s like a 15th month). YAY :-)

damn damn damn

I just dropped off my car at Peugeot, and they gave me a replacement vehicle. That’s all find and dandy, if they haven’t given me another Peugeot 307 with GPS, radio with GSM and MP3, and with only 600Km.

damn damn damn

I think they want to force me into buying a new one, those sneaky bastards! lol

Neck Strings are Done!

No Gravatar

Finally, I’ve committed myself to finish the Neck Strings section on my Auntie Ts website.

On the thumbnails you can have an overall view of the piece, while on the right you can see a macro detail. There are 51 pieces, and the ones you see get tagged so you will know which ones you have already seen, and the ones you haven’t.

I’ve also hosted the flash movie somewhere else, so that you can get pretty decent bandwidth, so the gallery should open up pretty quickly.

Have fun.

Ps.: I envision that I will finish the other sections during this weekend, and perhaps finish the whole site on Tuesday, _tops_.

Good News Everyone

No Gravatar

Remember the Chat application?

Me and 2 friends of mine submitted this project as an iTi (Ideas to Income), which is an initiative of the company where I work for, where you submit ideas you have, so that the company can help you out with them (with resources, support, whatever…).

The idea got approved (freakin’ awesome), and so now, we have 48 hours (6 days) to achieve our goals for version 0.2, to use them when we think it’s best (obviously the company’s projects have a much higher priority).

The other good news, is that another colleague of mine, lent me his Mac, so I could compile the code over there (QT takes a lot of time compiling on a macBook), and although it couldn’t find a library (QtTest), I was able to replace it with something else (I was already thinking of making the move, so more power to me).

I’ve also moved the code from using Broadcast to use Multicast that basically should help us send some broadcasts pass some routers into other networks by using IGMP. Though it’s working great in Mac and Linux, I think Windows might still have a small bug.

ENOUGH WITH THE SMALL TALK, HERE COME THE SHOTS:

ImageShack

(as I inserted this image, I opened a private chat with the mac computer (I’m on the Windows one), and the Mac laptop said: “Excuse me, but I need your attention”. COOL! I suppose alert() is doing it’s job :-) )

and yes…. The screenshot is showing the color pick dialog (as always), and you can also notice a new button next to the color picker one (that is still under development, that’s why it doesn’t have an icon yet).

ImageShack

This one depicts the application running on a Linux environment (I had only shown before Windows), with a tab open with a private message from alemos, and of course… with the color dialog open, ONCE AGAIN.

RedBull Air Race 2007

No Gravatar

Today, me, my mom and my father went to Porto to watch the Red Bull Air Race 2007, where 600000 people attended!

So… Lots of people, lots of confusion, and a small spot that my dad discovered for us to watch the race, and…. enough with the crap. Let’s just cut to the photos :-)
